You can spend the morning getting ready at The Gallery House, head to your church for the ceremony, and return to The Gallery House for dinner, drinks, dancing, and the rest of your celebration.

Alcohol & Bar Service

How can we serve alcohol at our wedding?

You have two options for serving alcohol at The Gallery House:

Option 1: Hire a licensed caterer or bar service
Your caterer or bar service can provide the alcohol and handle bar service for your event, as long as they meet The Gallery House's requirements for licensing, insurance, and responsible alcohol service.

Option 2: Use The Gallery House's Bar Set-Up & Bartending Services
You can provide the alcohol yourself by obtaining a temporary beer and wine permit through the State of Indiana, then use our Bar Set-Up & Bartending Services for your event.

We'll help you understand what's required for your specific event and make sure the proper arrangements are in place before your wedding.

Can we bring our own alcohol?

You can provide your own beer and wine for your event when using The Gallery House's Bar Set-Up & Bartending Services and obtaining the required temporary beer and wine permit from the Indiana ATC.

If you choose not to obtain a temporary permit, alcohol must be provided and served by a licensed caterer or bar service that meets our requirements.

Liquor/spirits are not included in the temporary beer and wine option.

Do we need an alcohol permit?

If you are providing your own beer and wine and using The Gallery House's Bar Set-Up & Bartending Services, yes. You will need to obtain a temporary beer and wine permit through the State of Indiana. We will walk you through this process.

If you hire a licensed caterer or bar service that is providing the alcohol and handling the service, they are responsible for meeting the applicable licensing and permitting requirements for their service.

Does The Gallery House provide bartenders?

Yes. If you choose to use our Bar Set-Up & Bartending Services, our bartending service can handle the bar for your event. This service also includes cups and ice.

This option is available when you obtain the required temporary beer and wine permit and provide the beer and wine.

How does bar service work?

You can choose between hiring a licensed caterer or bar service to provide and serve your alcohol, or using The Gallery House's Bar Set-Up & Bartending Services with your own permitted beer and wine.

Regardless of which option you choose, alcohol service must follow The Gallery House's event policies. Last call is 30 minutes before the event ends, and alcohol service ends one hour before the rental period ends. Shots are not permitted.

We'll go over the details with you during the planning process so you know exactly what is required before your wedding day.
