Nestled in the heart of Bedford, Indiana, The Gallery House boasts a rich history dating back to the early 20th century. Originally know as The Bedford Furniture Galleries, the establishment was founded by M. B. Goldman and later led by Abraham Jacobs, stood as a symbol of quality and service in Bedford. Originally located at a prominent corner, the store underwent a notable relocation in 1921 to make way for the iconic Greystone Hotel.
Through sheer determination and the labor of mules, the entire building was moved to its current address at 911 15th Street, maintaining uninterrupted service to customers. Through the challenges of the Great Depression, Abraham Jacobs's partnership with Goldman solidified, leading to full ownership by 1949.
The legacy continued under David Jacobs's leadership from 1969, preserving the tradition of offering exceptional furnishings and personalized service. Despite changes in the landscape, the spirit of the Furniture Galleries endured.
